I think the broad scope is a great way to bring people from diverse fields together. As an attendee from industry, it was great to see plenty of industrial presentations talking about the green chemistry principles in action.

ABOUT THE CONFERENCE

The 19th Annual Green Chemistry & Engineering Conference (GC&E), will be held July 14-16, 2015 in the Washington DC area. As the longest running green chemistry conference in the United States, GC&E invites scientists, decision-makers, students, and advocates to come together, compare findings, and discuss the science of the future. Share your research with an engaged audience of your peers from around the world; learn from scientific trailblazers who are designing more sustainable chemistries and processes; find out how green innovations are inspiring new businesses and product lines.

With three days of programming, the GC&E conference will feature 30 technical sessions, a poster session, green exhibit hall, and keynotes lectures. Special features include the GC&E Student Workshop held on July 13th, a Careers Workshop, and the 5th Annual ACS GCI Roundtable Poster Reception. Call for papers and registration open in January 2015.

In Memoriam

Richard P Wool, FRSC
University of Delaware

We were greatly saddened to learn of Dr. Richard Wool’s recent passing.  Dr. Wool was a leader in the Green Chemistry and Engineering community, a U.S. Presidential Green Chemistry Award winner, and a constant participant in the Green Chemistry and Engineering Conferences for many years. He was extremely supportive and active throughout the past year as a Conference Organizing Committee Co-Chair. We will greatly miss his leadership, good wit, and strong support.
