The Performing Art of Science Workshop
Tuesday, June 19, 2018
7:00 p.m. – 9:30 p.m.
What makes for great science communication? Material that is on-point, exciting, and easy to comprehend, of course. But scientists often neglect the physical, vocal, and energetic components of public speaking. Nancy Houfek, stage director, actor, and nationally recognized theater educator is offering her workshop, The Performing Art of Science Presentation, to examine how to talk about science using the actor’s craft. Highly interactive, this workshop will help you connect with the audience, create physical confidence, speak with volume and clarity, and manage fear. You’ll walk away with new ideas of how to bring your important content to life.
Space is limited. Be sure to sign-up during conference registration. The workshop is offered free of charge to attendees. Please note however that there is a refundable $25 deposit to guarantee your seat and will be refunded to you upon your completion of the workshop.
Registration for this workshop is not final until you receive email confirmation from GCI staff.
