Networking and Social Events
Lace up your running shoes and get ready to start your morning off with a light run (or walk) on the scenic Washington & Old Dominion Railroad Trail. Formerly a railroad line that closed in 1968, the track was converted to the current running path in 1974. Join us for a brisk morning jog through the wooded path for a different and exciting way to meet fellow green chemistry enthusiasts and connect. If you choose to really explore the trail, it also features historical structures along the way, many of which are remnants from the former rail line, including some historical structures dating to the pre-Civil War period.
Green Chemistry on Tap Pub Crawl
Blow off some steam after hours and join fellow green chemists and engineers on a pub crawl through Reston Town center with multiple groups focused on different aspects of green chem. Relax with friends and colleagues at several different pub locations to chat about expert-led green chemistry topics and challenges to sustainability. The Pub Crawl is a great way to meet new people and expand your network in a comfortable, low key environment.
With five designated networking breaks and daily breakfasts, there are multiple occasions provided for connecting and broadening your green chemistry and engineering base. We encourage attendees to actively engage their fellow Conference goers in dialogue, information-sharing, and contact-sharing to help mutually further your personal, professional and organizational goals.
Opening night Welcome Reception
The largest gathering of all Conference attendees offers an elegant and cheerful reception, with food and beverage provided, to reconnect with old friends and colleagues, engage with fellow green chemistry enthusiasts and establish new contacts through peer networking.
