Whether you are just beginning your studies or working on a doctoral thesis, attending the 20th Annual Green Chemistry & Engineering Conference will be a valuable immersion experience. Students who participate can:

Student Awards

The following awards are applicable for GC&E*:


  • NSF Travel Scholarships
    Students receive up to $1,000 for travel, accommodations, and conference registration fee. Must be currently enrolled in an accredited U.S. university at the undergraduate, graduate or postdoctoral level.
  • Ciba Travel Award in Green Chemistry
    Up to $2,000 to travel to an ACS conference or seminar with a Green Chemistry emphasis
  • Joseph Breen Memorial Award
    Up to $2,000 to participate and present research in an international Green Chemistry conference or seminar
  • Kenneth Hancock Memorial Award
    $1,000 award provides national recognition and honor for outstanding student contributions to furthering the goals of green chemistry through research and/or studies



GC&E Student Poster Competition

Student submissions to the GC&E Poster Session will be entered into a poster competition. Two winners will be selected and will receive $500 monetary awards.


*Eligible students include anyone not already receiving a 2015 Breen, Hancock, Ciba or NSF Scholar award from ACS
