Why did you make the decision to go virtual?

The COVID-19 pandemic forced us to rethink this conference to ensure the safety of our meeting attendees, the surrounding community and our ACS staff. After careful consideration, we did not feel it would be safe to continue this event as originally planned. Instead, we decided to transition the GC&E Conference to a virtual event.

We apologize for any inconvenience this decision may have caused, but we feel it is the only option to ensure the safety of all individuals involved. If you have any questions please contact our symposium organizer or email gceconferences@acs.org.

What does a Virtual GC&E Conference look like?

Similar to an in-person event, participants will hear and engage with colleagues about innovative science. Using a virtual platform, they will be able to watch recorded oral presentations and engage with presenters through features like a live chat and/or audio/video Q&A. Our keynote speakers will be presenting live talks during the conference with Q&A. There will even be a full poster session.

Many of our participants have expressed the importance of networking at GC&E, and we have found creative ways to replicate this experience online. Participants will be able to communicate with each other throughout the event on the platform including during the daily Networking Breaks and the #gcande Twitter Virtual Happy Hours.

ACS GCI has worked with our Program Chairs, Symposium Organizers, and Oral and Poster Presenters to transition the majority of the 45 technical sessions to the online platform. Check out the complete list of technical symposia sessions and GC&E Fridays.

For current information, register for the complimentary virtual event and check the online Virtual Conference Platform schedule each day to confirm session, speaker presentation and Live Discussion times.

Presentations are available to watch on-demand – as long as the speaker has consented to this. Live Q&A sessions will be available within 24 hours.

For current information during the conference, check the Virtual Conference Platform schedule each day to confirm session, speaker presentations and Live Discussion times.

How long after the conference, will the presentations be available?

Presentations and live Q&A sessions will be available to watch on-demand for 90-days after the event.
