Prepare to Present at GC&E
All speakers and poster presenters must register by April 13th, 2026, and pay the appropriate registration fee to attend the conference.
Review the oral and poster presentation checklist below for tips on having the best presentation experience possible.

Oral Presentation Checklist

Prepare your slides in a 16:9 format.

Make sure to reference your material.

PowerPoint is the preferred presentation software that works best with the A/V equipment. We do not recommend generating your presentation in Keynote or other presentation software.

Equipment in the Room: LCD projector with VGA cable and switcher, screen, laser pointer, podium with microphone, wireless and handheld microphone, PC computer.

Help in the Room: Your presentation room should have an A/V technician during presentation hours, and a room volunteer if you have any non-technical questions

Preparing to upload your presentation: Your presentation title should begin with your name (First Name_Last Name) and then include your presentation title to ensure we can differentiate uploaded files.

Test run your presentation: Please visit your presentation room during a Networking Break to confirm your presentation is downloaded, and your slides are running as expected. Networking Breaks are Tuesday-Thursday at 9:15-9:30 AM, 10:55-11:10 AM, and 3:25-3:45 PM.

On the day of your presentation: Report to the room you will be presenting in no later than 20 minutes before the start of the session and introduce yourself to the session moderator.

If you haven’t already, we recommend you open your presentation on the provided computer to ensure it is working correctly and that any media files you have embedded play.

Please do not plan to present from your own computer or from a USB. If your presentation hasn’t been uploaded, you will have to download it onto the presenting computer for the duration of your talk.

Stick to the schedule: Published presentation times must be maintained. It is important that presentations do not start late or extend past their scheduled conclusion due to equipment setup or associated computer troubleshooting. Session chairs will be responsible for keeping their session on time.
Preparing A Poster Presentation

Poster Board Size
Each horizontal poster board measures 4 feet high x 8 feet wide (including frame). The live area for the poster board is approximately 46” x 94 ½”. All presentations must be confined to the dimensions of the poster board itself.
Posters, Nothing More
The poster session does not permit computer display equipment, sound or projection equipment, freestanding or three-dimensional displays, demonstrations/experiments, or tables for handout materials.

Hanging Your Poster
Posters must be hung between 12:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. on Monday, June 15th, and be removed on Wednesday, June 17th, no later than 5:00 p.m. Posters should be kept up after the poster session until Wednesday evening for final judge review. Please thoroughly review your most recent scheduling notice to identify which room you should hang your poster in.
Poster Location
Posters will be organized by presenter’s last name, and name plaques supplied by ACS GCI will be placed in the upper corner of each poster board.

Please review your most recent scheduling notice to determine which poster session you are in, the room number, and your poster board number. Each author is responsible for posting his/her material according to the schedule in your acceptance and scheduling emails.

During the Poster Session: Stay with your poster for the duration of the session to discuss the results and answer questions from other attendees.

Poster Judging: Judges will visit student presenters during the poster session. Posters should be kept up after the poster session until Wednesday evening for final judge review.

Remove Your Poster: Please remove on Wednesday, Jun 17th, no later than 5:00 p.m. All posters not removed by this time will be recycled.
